BREWERY

Launched on the Bucharest craft beer playground in 2017, Anagram is a labor of love project that materialized after several years of learning and experimenting through home and gipsy brewing.

Husband and wife team Paul and Raluca built ANAGRAM together to develop and brew high quality and distinctive beers in Romania. Though relatively small, the brewery concentrates on bringing people together around regular and seasonal offerings, amongst our neighbors and friends, in the very heart of Bucharest, where the brewer and community may continuously interact.

FOUNDERS

Anagram was founded by Paul and Raluca Baran, who each bring their own creative vision to the mix. Although coming from different cultural backgrounds, they found a common space to grow and bring out the best in each other. Just like they’d like the people who drink their beer to find a common ground around Anagram.

PAUL is  the driving force who dreamed of Anagram and made it happen. His journey began with 30-liter homebrew batches, followed by two years of gypsy brewing, before Anagram became a reality. He carefully designs recipes, studies constantly, and experiments with new ideas to keep our beers fresh and exciting. In addition to being a brewer, his approachable personality, warmth, and genuine love for people have been key in turning Anagram into a thriving community hub.

RALUCA oversees the creative and strategic direction of the brand, while also juggling PR, business development, and the not-so-fun but very necessary administrative side of running a brewery. She helps bring ideas to life through bold branding, eye-catching labels, and thoughtful details that make Anagram stand out. She works closely with the team to shape the way our brand looks, feels, and connects with people by turning ideas into quality brews and concepts into visuals and memorable events.

TEAM

Like all things Anagram, our team is an eclectic mix.

BOGDAN has been a trusted and valuable colleague since the very beginning, and today he keeps our operations running smoothly. From coordinating main events to managing orders, deliveries, and client service, he’s deeply involved in the day-to-day heartbeat of the business. Beyond his organizational skills, Bogdan brings a passion for music (along with his awesome sound system), a calm, zen approach, and a natural talent for event planning that ensures every detail comes together seamlessly.

DARIUS brings both experience and enthusiasm to the brewhouse, overseeing the day-to-day brewing process with precision and care. With a deep understanding of the craft, he ensures every batch meets the highest standards while keeping an eye on innovation. Passionate about pushing flavors forward, he’s always excited to experiment and contribute to the development of new recipes. Professional yet approachable, Darius combines technical expertise with genuine creativity, making him key player in the Anagram team.

MIHNEA (aka Beri) is an enthusiastic and hardworking brewer with a creative approach to both craft and process. He brings fresh ideas and a strong commitment to quality, while thriving in hands-on, fast-paced environments. He is driven to learn, grow, and contribute to producing exceptional beers while adding energy and originality to the team.

ANDREI is the welcoming face whose warmth and personal touch make every visit to our taproom feel like catching up with an old friend. As both bartender and friendly host, he’s always ready to help you discover your favorite Anagram beer. Beyond the bar, Andrei is also the creative hand behind our Anagram mural, bringing his artistic vision to our space.

BOBO is the friendly face behind the bar, instantly recognizable by his signature hat (never a baseball cap). A former professional basketball player, he brings the same energy, focus, and team spirit from the court into the taproom. Whether he’s recommending the perfect beer or sharing a story from his playing days, Bobo makes every visit feel personal and memorable.

NICOLE is a people-person who thrives on connecting with the diverse communities around Anagram. Whether pouring beers or handling orders, she brings her hospitality experience and keen attention to detail to create outstanding client experiences. She studies psychology and has a passion for drawing and tattoo art.
