Our Story
Paul
Anagram co-founder and brewer Paul Baran puts the craft in craft beer, carefully designing his recipes, constantly studying and experimenting.
He’s a California native who has lived in Romania for the past 25 years, has worked over six years perfecting his brewing skills, initially homebrewing 30-liter batches on his Grainfather on a regular basis, then gypsy brewing for two years.
Paul puts passion in his work, loves traveling, surfing, photography, basketball and knows his music.
Our Team

Anagram was founded by Paul and Raluca Baran, who each bring their own creative vision to the mix.
Paul grew up by the ocean, Raluca in the mountains. One was raised in the epicenter of “the free world”, the other communism. Although coming from different cultural backgrounds, they found a common space to grow and bring out the best in each other. Just like they’d like the people who drink their beer to find a common ground around Anagram.

Raluca
Raluca covers the creative side of the branding and the more challenging (and not as fun) administrative part of Anagram.
Andrei
Andrei is our friendly and welcoming taproom host, always happy to assist you in picking your favorite Anagram beer. He is also the author of our Anagram mural.
Bogdan
Bogdan is our event coordinator. He brings to the table his passion for music along with his sound system, overall zen, and event planning skills.
Darius
Darius is an experienced brewer, who oversees the day-to-day beer making process and is excited to contribute to the development of new recipes.
